Warm weather is not. Late in the season during the spring there are situations where warm weather can turn the right snow at the right elevations into perfect corn snow. Skiing corn under sunny skies on a warm Spring Day is an awesome experience. It\u2019s rarely the focus of a GNASA.<\/p><p>GNASA\u2019s demand great snow conditions. And that requires cold weather, not warm weather.<\/p><h2><strong>Problems With Warm Weather<\/strong><\/h2><ul><li>Icey runs from daytime melting and overnight freezes<\/li><li>Bad snow conditions (slush, mush and sierra cement)<\/li><li>Storms in warm weather drop rain, not snow (see Rain)<\/li><\/ul><h2><strong>Expert Tips On Avoiding Warm Weather<\/strong><\/h2><h3><u>Travel During The Colder Winter Months<\/u><\/h3><p>On average, the coldest months of the year are December, January, and February. Planning your GNASA during these months increases your odds of avoiding warm weather.<\/p><h3><u>Choose Resorts At Higher Elevations<\/u><\/h3><p>Resorts at higher elevations will have colder temperatures.
